Target Audience

Plastic Surgeons, Dermatologists and Nurses who assist in their procedures

 


Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to:
  • Identify patient expectations
  • Summarize injection nuances of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers
  • Evaluate advanced injection techniques:
  • Specific to hyaluronic acid dermal fillers
  • Specific to certain areas of the face
  • Defi ne complications with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers

Program Agenda

This workshop will be 3 hours in length and will consist of a short didactic presentation followed by live injection demonstrations.

Faculty

Michael Kane, MD, Plastic Surgeon,
New York, NY

Dr. Michael Kane is in private practice in New York, NY. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College where he was a member of the Hobart Hare Honor Society. He began his career in surgery at the age of twenty-one. He then went on to complete a general surgery residency at New York Medical College. Dr. Kane’s plastic surgical training consisted of a residency at Wright State University and a fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital.

Dr. Kane is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a member of many professional organizations including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the New York County Medical Society, the Medical Society of the State of New York, and the international Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.

Dr. Kane has published and presented numerous papers throughout his career. His work has been published in the scientifi c journals Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. However, he is probably best known for his work with Botulinum Toxin A. While still a fellow at Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Hospital, he pioneered the use of Botulinum Toxin A for cosmetic purposes. Dr. Kane has taught thousands of physicians how to properly inject Botulinum Toxin A with both lectures and live demonstrations.

 

Steven Yoelin, MD, Ophthalmologist
Newport Beach, CA

Dr. Steve Yoelin maintains a private practice in Newport Beach, California where he specializes in injectable aesthetic procedures. In addition, he currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine.

Dr. Yoelin completed his undergraduate work at the University of California, Davis, where he graduated magna cum laude. After earning his B.S. degree from the University of California, Davis, Dr. Yoelin earned his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine, where he received numerous awards for his academic efforts and also for his research efforts. Dr. Yoelin completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of California, Irvine.

Dr Yoelin is a Board Certifi ed Ophthalmologist. Dr. Yoelin served as a member of the panel that developed the soon to be published text, “Advances in Facial Rejuvenation: Botulinum Toxin Type A, Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers, and Combination Therapies: Consensus Recommendations”.

Dr. Yoelin is routinely invited to speak at many major ophthalmic meetings in the country, during which he discussed in detail the best way to use Botulinum Toxin Type A, hyaluronic acid and other dermal fillers.
