American Medical Informatics Association
At AMIA's web site users can find information about medical informatics, AMIA's structure and operations, meetings and educational events, membership and member services, annual meeting information's, and link to AMIA's publications.

Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)
The homepage of AAMC has general information about the association, calendar of events and news, links to information about publications and information resources, medical education, student and application information, research, and healthcare.

Merck Manual
This site is maintained by Merck & Co., Inc., and provides access to on-line publications such as, The Merck Manual of Medical Information--Home Edition which has been published for the first time in September 1997. This edition presents information about diseases, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. The full-text sections of this publications are searchable.

- Decision Support Systems

Dxpalin
This site, maintained by the Laboratory of Computer Science, a unit of the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, provides information about DXPlain. DXplain is a decision support system which uses a set of clinical findings (signs, symptoms, laboratory data) to produce a ranked list of diagnoses which might explain (or be associated with) the clinical manifestations. From this site, visitors can download a demonstration of the program.

PharmWeb is a fully interactive web site, where pharmaceutical and health related information provided by international professional organizations is delivered to patients and health professionals. Anything you need to know about drugs can be retrieved using several methods including the use of mailing lists, forms, responsive questionnaires and on-line databases.

The First International Telemedicine Trial to China: ZHU Ling's Case
This web site, maintained by the Department of Radiological Sciences at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), demonstrates a case of teleconsultation using the internet and it's services to simplify the diagnosis and treatment of a rare illness that occurred in China. Eighty four physicians from 18 countries around the world collaborated their efforts to made the diagnosis, which in this case saved the life of a young student.
